A financial crisis can happen to anyone. These challenges are often due to unforeseen circumstances, such as a job loss or illness. New Jersey SHARES provides relief to people, who are not eligible for other types of assistance.
Our Mission New Jersey Statewide Heating Assistance and Referral for Energy Services (New Jersey SHARES) is a non-profit organization charged with a mission to provide assistance to individuals and families living in New Jersey who are in need of temporary help in paying their energy bills. New Jersey SHARES' Assistance Programs:
New Jersey SHARES assists income eligible households throughout New Jersey to pay their energy bills. We also administer Verizon NJ's Communications Lifeline and Link Up America programs. New Jersey SHARES also provides assistance to United Water customers with their water bills. We are the only statewide, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which provides grants to pay the energy and utility bills of households in need, through a statewide network of more than 250 community-based social service agencies operating out of 277 sites.
