Alita T. Corbett

Atlantic City Electric, an Exelon Company Alita T. Corbett has over 23 years of experience in nonprofit management. She earned her bachelor’s degree in home economics and marketing from North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C. and began her career in politics in the nation’s capital, with a focus on connecting with the community.  Her work with the Council of the District of Columbia as Chief Administrative Officer, coupled with her master’s degree in public administration from the University of the District of Columbia, led to an opportunity to become a key member of the community outreach team at Pepco, one of the largest electric utility companies on the East Coast. For 21 years at Pepco, Corbett focused on helping to educate the public, specifically low-income communities, about affordable options to help with their energy bills. In 2010, she stepped up to fill a need in the Office of the Customer Advocate at Atlantic City Electric, Pepco’s sister company, to help educate customers in New Jersey. As Customer and Community Relations Manager, her main role with the Office of the Customer Advocate focused on a wide variety of energy and reliability issues, and she spent most of her time educating customers about state and federal funds and assistance programs that are available to help customers with their utility bills. In 2007, she was appointed to the National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition Board of Directors, where she encourages new ideas and innovations for programs and processes in the utility industry. She has served on the Board of New Jersey SHARES since 2010. She is also listed among the distinguished alumnae of Lead New Jersey, where she has been recognized for demonstrated leadership and administrative expertise.
