technology grant for the organization to upgrade technology used to

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and our 64 non-profit
human service agency partners, we want to thank the PNC Bank Foundation
for supporting New Jersey SHARES and the middle and fixed income households
that we assist”, said Jim Jacob, executive director of NJ SHARES.
“PNC Bank Foundation’s contribution of $10,000 will be used
to upgrade the NJ SHARES office telephone system which will in turn
allow NJ SHARES to better assist clients who call with a crisis. Overall
PNC Bank Foundation’s contribution will allow us to improve our
intake process and provide more timely assistance to New Jersey households
in need. Responsible corporate citizens like the PNC Bank make the challenging
task of providing crisis assistance to families and individuals struggling
to meet all of their financial obligations much easier.”
PNC Bank is dedicated to enhancing and enriching the quality of life
in the community where PNC has a presence. “PNC Bank is proud
to support NJ SHARES, which we believe is an important energy assistance
program for middle and fixed income families in New Jersey, said Nardo.
NJ SHARES is an energy assistance program that assists those people
who do not otherwise qualify for utility bill assistance through traditional
programs. NJ SHARES helps households with a temporary financial hardship
that could have resulted from a job loss, an illness or other misfortune.
Each client fills out an application with the assistance of a local
community- based organization. Eligibility is determined by the NJ SHARES
staff based on individual need. New Jersey SHARES grants are distributed
year-round. To donate or apply for the NJ SHARES program, please call
