| New Jersey SHARES Receives Technology Grant From The Verizon Foundation
Ewing, NJ — June 25, 2003 — Anna Lustenburg, Director of
External Affairs at Verizon, presented the New Jersey Statewide Heating
And Referral for Energy Services, Inc. (NJ SHARES) Board of Directors
with a $5,000 technology grant for the organization to upgrade technology
used to process grants for middle and fixed income households in need
of temporary utility assistance.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and
our 63 non-profit human service agency partners, we want to thank the
Verizon Foundation for supporting New Jersey SHARES and the middle and
fixed income households that we assist”, said Jim Jacob, executive
director of NJ SHARES. “The Verizon Foundation’s contribution
of $5,000 will allow us to improve our intake process and provide more
timely assistance to New Jersey households in need. Responsible corporate
citizens like the Verizon Foundation make the challenging task of providing
crisis assistance to families and individuals struggling to meet all
of their financial obligations much easier.”

of a local community- based organization. Eligibility is determined
by the NJ SHARES
