President's Letter

Jim Jacob, President & CEO

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

We shiver just to recall the cold we have endured in New Jersey this season.  NJ SHARES is an energy and utility assistance safety net for limited income households in an emergency or crisis situation who are not eligible for other forms of assistance.

As we head into this chilly Spring, Winter's heating bills come due and we see an influx in households applying for assistance.  Households who receive help from NJ SHARES are weathering a financial storm that was not forecast. With 37 percent of our New Jersey neighbors working, but earning less than needed to cover the basic costs of housing, utilities, healthcare, transportation, child care and food, our programs are needed now more than ever.

Through your generosity over the past 20 years, we have kept the lights and heat on for more than 185,000 of our neighbors!

Support NJ SHARES and together we can continue to help to keep our neighbors in need. Your donations are tax deductible and may be eligible for New Jersey’s energy companies matching programs - doubling our ability to help.

Jim Jacob

NJ SHARES Releases 2017 Annual Report

As we mark our 20th anniversary, we are delighted to present the NJ SHARES 2017 Annual Report, which provides an overview of our year, our accomplishments, and the lives we have impacted because of your generosity

Together, we continue to provide an energy safety net for a population that has nowhere else to turn.  In fact, we have helped more than 185,000 of our New Jersey neighbors since 1998.

Working together, we are able to help our New Jersey neighbors remain safe in their homes. Our achievements would not have been possible without the assistance of friends like you. We want to thank you for your past support of NJ SHARES and hope you will continue to support our efforts to aid New Jersey households in crisis.

We look forward to future opportunities to celebrate our partnerships.
